Wife of Shas spiritual leader hospitalized in serious condition
June 15, 2016Rabbanit Yael Cohen, wife of Rabbi Shalom Cohen, who has been hospitalized at the Mayanei HaYeshua hospital in Bnei Brak in recent days, is reportedly in serious condition.
Rabbanit Cohen, who has been suffering from a serious illness, has been in the hospital since Monday. Family members say her condition has deteriorated and have called on the public to pray on behalf of Yael bat Yaffa Jamila.
Her husband, Rabbi Shalom Cohen, heads the Moetzet Hachamei HaTorah, which provides spiritual guidance to the Shas party. He is also rosh yeshiva of Porat Yosef in the Old City in Jerusalem.
Morning services at the Porat Yosef yeshiva on Wednesday were dedicated to Rabbanit Cohen.
