Watch: Hallel for Hallel

July 6, 2016

Hundreds of women gathered Wednesday morning, in Kiryat Arba High School. They gathered to pray the special prayer of the beginning of the Jewish month, Hallel, in memory of Hallel-Yaffa Ariel, who was murdered one week ago in her bed by a terrorist from nearby Bani Naim.

“Every word of prayer spoke to me, every word,” retells Miriam Peretz, the mother of fallen soldiers Uriel and Eliraz. “It was touching to sing, to feel pain and joy. Incredible mixtures of pain and joy are the characteristics of the nation of Israel…’I will not die, but live.’ (Psalms 118:17) That’s our message. We will do anything to live in this land.”

“To see the girls, to see the young ladies, and to see their pain, is difficult. However, they have a lot of faith. I told them…that this is the price of living in this land, and we need…to continue to believe, and that the most important thing is to be positive, and to be good people.”

Moriah Litman, who lost her father and brother to a terror attack only six months ago, added: “It was very moving to see that women from all over the land came here to stand in prayer, to strengthen and raise up Hallel’s soul. For me…it demonstrates the unity of the nation of Israel, it demonstrates to the Arabs that it doesn’t matter who they kill, we are not broken, and we are happy here, and we are singing the Hallel prayer with joy.

“The Arabs will not stop us, and we will continue to live here, in Judea and Samaria, with pride, and walk in the streets without fear.”
