Gopstein: ‘Revenge isn’t in building, it’s blood for blood’

July 3, 2016

Lehava leader Benzi Gopstein is urging the Israeli government to act decisively and quickly in response to recent terrorist attacks, in which Hallel-Yaffa Ariel and Rabbi Michael Mark were murdered.

“We are crying at the funeral in Otniel, but unfortunately, I hear an Israeli cabinet minister who says ‘Vengeance is for God, it is not for us to seek revenge.’ I want to remind the minister that he is a cabinet minister and that the government has the responsibility to avenge the spilling of Jewish blood,” said Gopstein to Arutz Sheva. “Revenge is not through building houses, but means blood for blood.”

He added, “We do not build houses to replace Jews who were murdered. We need to build more houses, but this is not the answer. The only solution is to deport anyone who celebrated or who gave out candy [to celebrate the murders]- all partners in this murder. We must say clearly here in Otniel, there is no co-existence and there never will be. We must expel our enemies from here. Only then can we have peace.”

Lehava describes itself as an anti-assimilation organization.
