July 12, 2016

The UN Security Council held a special meeting today (Tuesday) on the situation in the Middle East.

At the meeting, Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon revealed new intelligence information which included aerial photographs of a village that was converted into a terrorist stronghold, as well as details concerning Hezbollah’s armaments.

“The village of Shakra in Southern Lebanon has become a stronghold for terror, one in every three buildings there is being used as terrorist infrastructure, which includes launching pads for missiles, weapons piles and more,” Danon said.

“Hezbollah didn’t stop here; it chose to locate its stations near schools and other public facilities, in doing so putting innocent civilians in danger.” Danon emphasized that “it is the responsibility of the UN Security Council to remove Hezbollah from Southern Lebanon.”

In the course of the meeting, Danon presented details which showed that Hizbollah possesses more missiles underground than all the European countries of NATO have above-ground put together.

Danon also noted whereas in 2006 Hezbollah had 7,000 missiles, today Hezbollah currently has more than 120,000 missiles pointed at population centers within Israel.
