Arab-Canadian newspaper blames the Jews
July 21, 2016B’nai Brith Canada on Wednesday condemned an Arabic newspaper in Canada which denied the Holocaust in an article that included anti-Semitic arguments.
The article, entitled “The Question Which Everyone Ignores: Why Did Hitler Kill the Jews?”, was published in the June-July 2016 edition of the Al-Saraha newspaper.
The article, which was copied from an Egyptian newspaper, rejects the claim that six million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust, claims that “Jewish propaganda” inflated the number, blames the Jews for the economic collapse of 1870 and 1920, and accuses it of distributing pornography that corrupted society.
B’nai Brith CEO Michael Mostyn said, “This article constitutes an obscene form of hate propaganda aimed at Canada’s Jewish community.”
He expressed concern over the fact that the article was published in a community newspaper which also includes advertisements for local political parties, as well as Ramadan greetings by Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and other members of Ontario’s Liberal government.
