Yom Kippur Ends, Jews Prepare for Sukkot

October 8, 2011

Preparations are now afoot for Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, which begins Wednesday evening.

Two cemeteries in Yafo were vandalized on the eve of Yom Kippur – one Christian, the other Muslim. Graffiti said “death to Arabs” and “price tag.” There have been no arrests of suspects as of yet.

Border crossings were closed on Yom Kippur and will remain so until Sunday morning, except for the Taba Crossing that will open at 9:00 p.m. Saturday evening.
