For the fourth straight Saturday, Arabs set fires west of Yitzhar, in Samaria (Shomron) – but this time, the Jewish side seems to have its own documentation of the event. Sources in Yitzhar said Sunday night that an attempted knife attack by an Arab was edited out of the video released by ultra-leftist B’tselem. They promised to release their own video of the event.
The event began at about 1:15 p.m., when IDF soldiers and fire crews began fighting the blaze. They were then set upon by a mob made up of Arabs and ultra leftists.
B’tselem’s video claims that the Jews started the fire. However, the new video reportedly shows some of the arsonists climbing out of a Red Crescent vehicle that was waiting near the center of the fire, shortly before the fire broke out.
One of the Arabs was armed with a knife and tried to attack the IDF and fire crews. He was shot and wounded by the soldiers.
A 19-second segment released by the Jewish residents Sunday shows the knife on the ground next to the wounded terrorist.
Yitzhar residents say B’tselem is an organization that supports terrorism. “B’tselem incites and initiates the occurrences, and does not hesitate to incite in the vilest way against the residents and IDF soldiers.”
