Yehuda Glick: Pray for Victims of Deadly Crash in Negev

Temple Mount activist Yehuda Glick, who survived an assassination attempt by a Palestinian Arab terrorist last October, on Tuesday called on the public to pray for people who were injured in a deadly crash in the Negev.

Tuesday’s crash occurred when a bus and a truck pulling a tractor collided, killing eight people on the bus and injuring 28 others.

The bus was carrying a group of female Bedouin Arabs from the Negev, who were returning from prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount.

“As a real gesture of people of faith, I call on Jews who ascend the Temple Mount tomorrow to pray for the injured from today’s accident,” Glick wrote on Facebook.

“I would even suggest holding a joint prayer with Muslims on the Mount; it is clear to me that there are Muslims on the Mount who would be glad to join,” Glick added.

Glick founded and heads the LIBA Initiative for Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount, but is known for his calls for tolerance between Jews and Muslims.

Despite being a vociferous campaigner for Jewish prayer rights on the Temple Mount – where government capitulation to Muslim pressure has meant Jews are not allowed to worship on their holiest site – Glick himself has always emphasized that he does not seek to prevent Muslims from worshiping there as well.
