When choosing a financial advisor, you must understand what his role is in helping you manage your money. Will he look at your investments on a daily basis? Who will make trading decisions? What does your financial advisor need to know about you, and what do you need to know about him?

A good financial advisor will make sure that you understand your investment goals. Are you trying to get rich or to avoid being poor? Are you saving for a specific goal or do you need your investments to supplement your income in retirement?
