US forces have assassinated an Al Qaeda terrorist chief in a targeted air strike in Pakistan.

A pre-dawn drone strike attack killed Badr Mansoor near the Afghan border, according to Pakistani officials and a member of the terrorist group.

Badr Mansoor ran a training camp in North Waziristan, and reportedly sent fighters to Afghanistan.  He was a major target of the American forces, and wanted for the attacks that left scores of people dead.

The terrorist chief died in missile attacks that rained overnight in Miranshah, the officials reported.

Two missiles were fired at a house in the country’s northwest tribal region, killing three terrorists in the second such attack in as many days.

American air strikes in the region killed 24 Pakistani soldiers last year, adding to tensions in the region as well as anger between the two nations.

A military strike by American Navy SEALs last year ended the life of international Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden – who had apparently been living for years in a Pakistani suburb last year after a ten-year search for the worldwide killer, further raising tensions between countries that were supposedly working together to track down the terrorist leader.
