‘Uprooting Amona rewards radical left-wing groups’

Relating to the situation of the Jewish community of Amona, whose residents stand to be uprooted, MK Shuli Mualem-Rafaeli of the Jewish Home party made clear this evening (Sunday) that expelling citizens from their homes is unacceptable.

“The destruction of the community of Amona, and the relocation of its residents elsewhere is not a solution, but rather a prize for extreme-left organizations,” said Mualem.

“I hope for Netanyahu’s sake that he does not intend to implement this plan,” she continued. “This time, with no leftist representative in the government, he will have no way to exculpate himself in the face of the Israeli voter – as well as the Jewish Home party.”

Muallem has previously advanced the so-called “Regulation Law,” whereby Amona would stay intact as is.

Earlier today, the Rabbi of Amona, Yair Frank, told Arutz Sheva that “‘relocation’ [in this case] is a euphemism for ‘expulsion,’ and if it happens, it will be through force. Just as they don’t suggest divorcing one woman in order to marry another, we, too, will not leave Amona. We want to regulate the community here, as it stands,” the Rabbi emphasized.
