Security forces destroyed two buildings overnight Monday/Tuesday in Givat Ronen in Samaria, and arrested two residents during the demolition.
Police also confiscated a vehicle parked near the house, witnesses said.
Legal rights group Honenu stated Tuesday morning said that one of the residents detained will be charged with resisting arrest and violation of a closed military zone; the case is being handled by Attorney Adi Keidar, a representative for the organization.
Honenu also noted that the closed military zone order does not apply to residents of the region and therefore apparently did not apply to detainees.
The Acting Head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, reacted sharply to the destruction.
“This is outrageous discrimination,” Dagan fired. “In Judea and Samaria, there is selective enforcement against Jews only and that is a fact.”
“Every child can see dozens of Arab homes built without a permit and not in their territory, undisturbed,” said Dagan.
“The new government must desist from the path of discriminating against Jews and adopt the report of Judge Edmond Levy,” he added, the report which noted in 2012 that Jewish areas of Judea and Samaria are absolutely legal under international law.
