Two children run over in apparent hit-and-run in Negev

Three people were run over Wednesday night in southern Israel on Route 316 between the Bedouin town of Hura and the Yattir forest.

Initial reports indicate the incident is likely a hit-and-run, as the driver appears to have sped off after wounding the three.

Two of the three victims are minors, ages 9 and 10. The third is a young man roughly 20 years of age.

Both of the children wounded in the accident are in serious condition and suffered head injuries. The young man is in moderate condition.

MDA first responders treated the three victims on the scene before evacuating them to Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident and are searching for the driver involved.
