Tumor Discovered in Abdomen of Infamous Toronto Mayor

Rob Ford, the controversial mayor of Toronto, was hospitalized on Wednesday with stomach pains, and was discovered in examinations to have a large tumor in his abdomen.

Ford was struck with the pains while having breakfast with his brother, City Council member Doug Ford, and went to a family doctor who sent him to the emergency room.

There, CT scans and ultrasounds revealed a growth in the lower left quadrant of his abdomen; a biopsy was taken and is expect to yield results in another week as to whether the tumor is cancerous.

Ford’s brother Doug was visibly shaken as he told reports his brothers was in “good spirits.” Their father Doug Ford Sr. died in 2006 from colon cancer.

The hospitalization of Toronto’s mayor will not affect the management of the Canadian city however, as the City Council stripped Ford of his executive powers last November after he admitted to smoking crack.

However, it will likely prevent him from campaigning in the upcoming October 27 elections.

Ford checked into rehab in May after finally admitting to his drug problems after a long period of denying the gathering evidence; police documents revealed he had tried to threaten and buy a video of himself taking drugs from a criminal gang of drug dealers. In fact, several videos of him taking drugs and verbally attacking people have surfaced since late last year.

The mayor also has been shown to be associated with drug dealers, one of whom was gunned down last March, and two others who were arrested last July.

As he checked into rehab, Ford admitted “I have tried to deal with these issues by myself over the past year. I know that I need professional help and I am now 100% committed to getting myself right. I have a problem with alcohol, and the choices I have made while under the influence.”
