Trump: Obama hates Israel

October 31, 2015

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Thursday that he thinks President Barack Obama “hates Israel”, but the Jewish state would be safe with him as President.

Speaking during a campaign speech in Nevada, Trump responded to a person in the crowd who shouted “Israel” to get his attention and said, “I heard the beautiful name of Israel.”

“So many friends in Israel, they don’t know what happened,” continued Trump. “They have a president who — they actually think Obama hates Israel. I think he does.”

The billionaire added that he thinks Israel is “in such a massive amount of trouble. Because of the agreement,” in reference to the deal with Iran, which he said “is so bad for Israel, so dangerous.”

But, he stressed, “Israel is safe with this one,” pointing to himself.

Trump has stood up for Israel several times in the past. Two weeks ago he slammed the State Department, after its spokesperson John Kirby said there were “credible reports” regarding “excessive force” by Israel against Palestinians.

“Israel’s being hit from all sides, and, you know, if you look at this new deal, this horrible, one of the worst contracts ever negotiated, the Iran nuclear deal, I mean, how can Israel be happy with the United States?,” Trump told Fox News.

“They’re getting hit on in so many different ways. So, I don’t blame him (Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu) for being unhappy with our president, or the United States. We’re not taking care of them. We’re not doing what we’re supposed to be doing.”

Directly addressing Kirby’s remarks, Trump said, “what’s excessive force? They’re being hit from all sides, and they’re being hit very unfairly, and they have to do what they have to do.”

Last month, during a rally against the Iran deal, Trump blasted what he called the “incompetently negotiated” agreement.

Before the 2013 election in Israel, Trump endorsed Netanyahu in a video, calling the Israeli prime minister “an amazing person, and an exceptional person,” deserving of the support of every Israeli.
