Trump and Clinton are running neck-and-neck in the presidential race, according to the latest polls from CBS News and The New York Times.
The polls shows both presumptive nominees running with 40% voter support.
Trump has been gaining fast, as the earlier Times polls had placed Hillary at 6 points ahead.
The polls come a scarce week after the FBI announced it will not press criminal charges for Clinton’s “extremely careless” use of classified emails.
The FBI’s statement fueled Trump’s “Crooked Hilary” campaign, wherein he accidentally published an image of a Jewish star next to piles of money. Trump, however, seems to have brushed off these latest accusations of racism.
Clinton has not fared as well in the public eye. Another recent poll from The New York Times indicates that voters do not think Hillary can be trusted.
“As Mrs. Clinton prepares to accept the Democratic Party’s nomination at the convention in Philadelphia this month, she will confront an electorate in which 67% of voters say she is not honest and trustworthy,” the Times reported.
