Israel is known for a lot of things–historic sites, beautiful landscapes, innovative technology…and of course, some stunningly beautiful women. We’ve compiled here a list of 10 of the top models to come out of the Jewish state.

10. Yael Goldman

Yael Goldman began modeling after her military service in Israel. She became the leading model for two Israeli clothing companies: Crocker and Castro. In 2003, she also began her television career as a TV host and by the end of 2007, she was a leading reporter at an Israeli entertainment news program. Yael is married to Israeli actor Ori Pfeffer.

 

9. Tehila Rich

Tehila Rich was born in a kibbutz to an American father and a Dutch mother. She began her modeling career at the age of 23 and has appeared in ads for Castro, Frannie, Ralph Lauren, Padani, Careline cosmetics and perfumes including Perry Ellis and Jagler Sport.

 

8. Chava Mond

Born in Safed, Chava Mond is Israel’s first shomer Shabbos and shomer kashrut model. At the age of 16 she was offered a job by a Select model agent during her travels in London but declined the offer to complete her high school studies. Select waited until she turned 18 so she could complete her Sherut Leumi.

Chava refuses to be photographed in swimsuits and underwear and has refused to work on some photo shoots because of these principles. In an interview she has stated that her career would have been “far away” had she accepted working on Shabbat and posing in swimsuits.

 

7. Or Grossman

Born in Ramat Gan, Or Grossman is an accomplished model and actress. She has been featured in many campaigns including Diesel, Vitamin Gold, Renuar and Carisma.

 

6. Titi Aynaw

Yityish “Titi” Aynaw was the first Ethiopian Jew to win the title of Miss Israel in 2013. She has lived in Israel since she was 12 and served as a lieutenant in the Military Police Corps of the IDF. She was named by The Jerusalem Post as 39th most influential Jew of 2013.

 

5. Esti Ginzburg

Esti Ginzburg was born in Tel Aviv and has modeled in international campaigns for brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Burberry, FCUK, Pull and Bear, and Castro. She’s been featured in the Sports IllustratedSwimsuit Issue for three consecutive years. She has publicity criticized fellow model Bar Refaeli for evading military service in the IDF via a short-lived marriage to a family friend. She is currently a co-host on the Israeli reality singing competition show, “Rising Star.”

 

4. Liraz Dror

Liraz Dror was born in a kibbutz and started modeling at age 15. She is one of the busiest international Israeli models with campaigns including such brands as Castro, Garnier, Lancaster, Notivi, Biotherm and Bellazon.

 

3. Moran Atias

Moran Atias was born in Haifa to parents of Moroccan Jewish descent. She  began her modeling career in Germany at the age of 17 and was discovered by Roberto Cavalli in Italy, for whom she became a model. Moran is considered one of Israel’s first actresses to have success abroad. She gained acting notoriety in the Italian films “Gas,” “Oggi Sposi and “Mother of Tears.”  Moran is best known for her work on the Paul Haggis series, “Crash.” 

 

2. Bar Refaeli

Bar Refaeli was born in Hod HaSharon. Her mother was a successful model in the 1970s, and Refaeli began her modeling career at the age of eight months, appearing in commercials. In 2000, she won the title “Model of The Year” in an Israeli beauty pageant and she appeared on the cover of the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She was voted #1 on Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list of 2012.

 

1. Gal Gadot

Gal Gadot was born and raised in Rosh HaAyin. In 2004 she won the Miss Israel title and went on to represent Israel at the 2004 Miss Universe beauty pageant. She is the leading fashion model for the clothing company Castro. Gadot is known for her role as Gisele Harabo in “The Fast and the Furious” film series. On December 4, 2013, Warner Bros. revealed that Gadot had won the role of Wonder Woman in the sequel to “Man of Steel” starring Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck.

    Esti Ginzburg is incredible!

    It’ll be interesting to see how Gal does in ‘Man of Steel’. It could be a huge opportunity to score her own franchise.
