Toddler’s Organs Save 3 Children

The organs of Itay Rabinovich, 3, who died of drowning last week, have saved three children, reports Israel Hayom.

Itay’s parents, Noam and Tamar, were informed Sunday that Itay’s donated organs were successfully transplanted into three children.

Itay’s liver was transplanted into Haled Jahaleen, 6, of the Arad region. His kidneys were transplanted into a 9-year-old and a 17-year-old. All of the operations took place at Schneider Children’s Hospital in Petach Tikva, and all three children are in stable condition.

In addition, Itay’s corneas were placed in the eyes of two men, aged 56 and 39, at Ichilov Hospital, and helped saved their eyesight.

The Rabinovich family issued a statement in which it said: “The family has received the news about the success of the transplants and wishes health and happiness to the transplant receivers and their families.

People close to the parents said that they were very moved by the news, and were happy that the donations helped five people.

Itay drowned in a private pool he was swimming in with his family. He was hospitalized in serious condition at the Intensive Care Unit of Dana Children’s Hospital at Ichilov and died three days later.
