An explosion in Istanbul has wounded three people, official Turkish news reports. All three are now hospitalized.
The incident occurred near a bus station in the central Mecidiyekoy district, only hours after the US released a new travel warning about “credible threats” in the country. Israel issued an even more severe notice on Friday, advising its citizens to “immediately” leave Turkey.
Associated Press reports that the bomb was primarily intended to make a loud noise.
More than 200 people have been killed in six bombings in Turkey over the past nine months. The most recent attack targeted Israelis tourists.
