Three Wounded in Gush Etzion Car Terror Attack

Three 16-year-old boys have been wounded after being run over by a Palestinian Arab motorist in an apparent car terror attack, at the entrance to the town of Alon Shvut in Gush Etzion, south of Jerusalem.

The victims are all described in light to moderate condition; Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics are on the scene and evacuated them to hospital.

The Palestinian driver fled the scene immediately after committing the attack, but was detained by security forces shortly after.

A police statement confirmed “reports of an incident at Alon Shvut Junction. A black-colored car ran over two pedestrians and fled from the scene.”

Alon Shvut Junction is the site from which three Israeli teens – Eyal Yifrah, Gilad Sha’er and Naftali Frenkel – were kidnapped and ultimately murdered by Hamas terrorists last summer.

The use of cars and other vehicles as deadly weapons by “lone wolf” Palestinian terrorists has become increasingly frequent over the past year, with several Israelis murdered and dozens injured in a string of similar “car terror” incidents.

In October last year, an attack close to the site of today’s incident killed 26-year-old Tekoa resident Dalia Lemkos.

Last month, an attack by an Arab motorist in Jerusalem killed 25-year-old Shalom Sherki and left his date, 20-year-old Shira Klein, in critical condition.
