Terrorists Use New Method: Dazzle the Driver, then Throw a Rock

Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists are continuing the rock attacks at Israeli vehicles and it looks like they’ve come up with a new tactic: temporarily blinding the driver and then throwing the rock.

An Israeli woman who was driving toward her home on Thursday was attacked in this manner and miraculously escaped unharmed.

“Last night I was driving toward my home in Ma’ale Michmash,” the woman, Hodaya Cliff, told Arutz Sheva in an interview on Friday morning, before Shabbat. “A Palestinian car was driving on the other side of the road. Suddenly he dazzled me with his headlights and when he was directly in front of me he threw me a very large block at my car. The window shattered and I was filled with pieces of glass. I kept driving until I reached the community’s security guard. I told him what happened and he called the army and the police.”

Cliff added, “I thought those were gunshots. I never thought one could throw a rock from one vehicle to another vehicle while driving. It was scary. The road was deserted and dark.”

Rock attacks have become a common method use by terrorists against Israeli drivers. On Monday, PA Arab terrorists attacked motorists on the roads of Samaria, hurling rocks and firebombs at drivers of vehicles with Israeli license plates.

A vehicle traveling on Highway 60 near Ofra was attacked by Arabs hurling firebombs (Molotov cocktails) at around 10:00 p.m. local time.

No one was physically injured but the vehicle was damaged.

The same evening, an Egged bus traveling from Jerusalem through Samaria was also targeted by PA Arab attackers who hurled rocks at the vehicle as it passed the Hizme checkpoint. According to at least one report, the windshield of the bus was hit, and so was the side of the vehicle.

One person was injured on Thursday evening after rocks were thrown at an Egged Route 143 bus as it was traveling near Hizma.

The IDF Spokesman told Arutz Sheva that the passenger’s wounds were light and that no hospitalization was required.

Rock attacks can be deadly, as they are indeed intended to be, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and crash the car. That is precisely how two Jewish residents of the Judean city of Kiryat Arba — Asher Palmer and his baby son Yonatan — lost their lives in September.

The residents of Kiryat Arba recently renewed the work of a local civilian patrol of area roads and are working to protect one another from such rock attacks.
