Terrorists opened fire Wednesday morning on an Israeli vehicle that traveled between Hawara and Tapuah, near Shechem (Nablus) in Samaria. It appears that no one was struck by the bullets.

Two nurses were traveling in the car, which was headed toward Maaynei Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Berak. The driver, a resident of Yitzhar, kept on driving after the shots were fired, until she reached the Tapuah Junction, where an ambulance awaited her. 

The IDF said that at least one bullet struck the car.

The driver said that she had been driving through the village of Hawara when she saw a crowd of people. “Suddenly we felt a blow, boom. My friend, who sat next to me, started shouting that she had been hurt in her back. My car is reinforced against rocks and at first I thought that it had been a rock, but once she said she was feeling pain, I drove quickly from there toward the Tapuah Junction, at the same time reporting the incident and holding her. When I saw that there was no blood, I understood that the bullet had not struck her.”

Security forces are combing the area.

The driver, 46, was slightly wounded by shrapnel in his hand, but managed to continue driving to a nearby IDF base, where he was treated by the Ephraim Brigades’s medics. 

He was later brought by a Magen David Adom ambulance to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, in light condition.

The terrorists, driving a white Fiat Punto with Israeli license plates, fled after the shooting, in the direction of the Gilead junction. IDF forces are conducting searches in the area.
