Terrorists fired a rocket at the city of Eilat on Wednesday night, according to a report on Kol Yisrael radio.
Channel 2 News reported that the Grad-type rocket exploded in a residential area in the city. There were no reports of physical injuries or damages. It is unknown as of yet exactly from the rocket was fired, but officials believe it was fired from the Sinai Peninsula.
Shortly after midnight (local time), residents of Eilat reported hearing several loud explosions in the city. Police forces began searching the area in an attempt to locate the source of the explosions.
In August of 2010, five Katyusha rockets hit the city of Eilat. Two exploded in open areas and three fell into the sea. No injuries were reported.
Rockets were also fired at Eilat in April of 2010. One landed in the sea, and one hit the Jordanian city of Aqaba.
