An Arab terrorist tried to stab a security guard at the Jalame checkpoint, near Jenin, before being shot and killed. The 16-year-old terrorist had was able to approach the guard by pretending to sell Krembo snacks.
The attacker’s name has not yet been released, but authorities say that he approached a number of vehicles in attempts to sell the passenger Krembo. At a certain point he threw away the package, pulled out a knife, and ran towards the security officials. A Defense Ministry guard saw what he was doing and neutralized him.
The checkpoint, officially named the Gilboa Crossing, is protected by private security guards from the Ministry of Defense and IDF soldiers.
The failed attack occurred at the same time that US Secretary of State John Kerry was trying to find a solution to the ongoing wave of terror.
