Gunfire was heard on Sunday evening in the Shomron (Samaria) community of Har Bracha.
A search of the community found that a bullet had penetrated through the window of a home. An outer wall was found to have been hit as well. There were no physical injuries.
Military and security forces arrived at the scene and began searching the area in an attempt to find the shooters.
Responding to the attack, Shomron Regional Council head Gershon Mesika said, “When the army fails to respond with a strong hand to rock throwing and firebomb attacks on the roads, it only increases the audacity of the terrorists.”
“If we continue like this, incidents such as tonight’s could repeat themselves in many other communities in Judea and Samaria,” he warned.
Mesika stressed that the daily terror in the area is “a war for all intents and purposes and we must fight it with great intensity in order to prevent the next casualty.”
In recent months, Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem have been hit by a series of terrorist attacks which have come to be known as the “silent intifada”.
These have included rock attacks, firebomb attacks as well as hit-and-run attacks.
