Terror Rocket Mars Yom Ha’atzmaut Celebrations

Gaza Arab terrorists fired a rocket at the Ashkelon area Wednesday night, as residents of the city celebrated the opening ceremonies of Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel Independence Day. No one was injured, and no damage was reported. The “Red Alert” warning system was activated.

The attack occurred shortly after midnight, as residents were in the midst of celebrating the day. Dozens of residents called police and security officials, saying they heard an explosion. The rocket apparently hit outside the town, in an open area.

This was the third time in a week terrorists targeted the Ashkelon area. A rocket was fired by terrorists at the area on Sunday. No injuries or damage were reported, but the “Red Alert” system did not sound in that attack.

Last week a rocket fell near the city, a short time after a rocket fell in an area of the Sha’ar Hanegev regional council.
