Teen Stabbing Victim Regains Consciousness

The 13 year-old boy who was stabbed last week in Pisgat Ze’ev has regained consciousness and is now breathing on his own, Hadassah Medical Center at Mount Scopus stated Monday.

The boy is communicating with medical staff and his family, but is still in serious condition. Hospital staff noted that a long road for recovery may be ahead.

Prof. Ahmed Eid, director of the surgical department, headed the surgical team that saved the boy’s life.

“There’s a rehabilitative process ahead for our boy here, obviously, but I’m glad his condition is basically good and stable, and that there are indicators showing progress,” Eid said.

“The most difficult was the situation when he arrived at the hospital, and today we are optimistic about his continued recovery.”

The 13 year-old was wounded last week as Palestinian Arab teens, Ahmed and Mahmoud Mansara, carried out the brutal stabbing spree in broad daylight.

The pair first pounced on a 25-year-old man, stabbing him repeatedly and leaving him seriously wounded, before attacking the teen on his bicycle.
