A man and woman, both estimated to be around 30 years of age, were found dead in an apartment in Rishon Letzion on Wednesday in an apparent double murder.

The couple, who began dating several weeks ago, were both divorcees with children.

“She was divorced with two daughters; he was divorced with three children,” a neighbor told NRG. “No one knows what happened here.”

Police are reportedly seeking out an ex-boyfriend the murdered woman had previously dated after her divorce, though they have yet to confirm whether he is a suspect.

Friends and relatives of the young woman claimed her former boyfriend had a history of violence and that he had recently been harassing her.

“Her previous partner was violent towards her,” a friend of the family said. “She complained to the police, but they did nothing.”

One of the woman’s close friends noted that two days before her death police intervened following a complaint.

“Her previous boyfriend – not her ex-husband – would just become consumed with violent [rage],” said the victim’s friend. “She complained to the police. The police were here two days ago. She was supposed to sleep at our house. I convinced her to come, though she said she felt safe. There was also talk that she would go to a shelter for abused women.”
