Stray Bullets from Syria Hit IDF Position

November 7, 2012

An IDF position near the border with Syria was hit by what appear to be stray bullets Wednesday. No one was hurt and no damage was caused.

The IDF said that the bullets appear to be strays from light weapons used in internal fighting in Syria.

Three Syrian tanks entered the demilitarized area between Syrian and Israeli territory on the Golan Heights border Saturday. The tanks, which belong to Syrian strongman Bashar Assad’s forces, entered the village of Bir Ajam, a short distance away from an IDF position.

The tanks were maneuvering as part of the fighting between Assad and rebel forces.
