A senior army source revealed on Monday morning that in the wake of the brutal murder of Dafna Meir at Otniel in the southern Har Hevron region of Judea the night before, the security establishment will examine anew the entry of Palestinian Arab workers into Jewish towns.

According to the source, cited by Kol Yisrael radio, the entry of Arab laborers into towns in Judea and Samaria will be reconsidered, given that the terrorist who stabbed Meir to death at the entrance to her home in front of her children apparently worked in the town.

Even if the terrorist acted alone, there are serious concerns that other Arab workers will conduct copycat attacks and similarly take advantage of their access to Jewish towns to murder, according to the source.

He noted that security sources will be required to provide a response to this threat posed by potential copycat terrorists.

The massive manhunt after the terrorist continues after he fled the town, apparently aided by his familiarity gained while working there.

On Monday, Arab workers were denied entrance to the Har Hevron region amid continued concerns over the security threat posed by their presence.

Sunday night’s murder caps a long list of attacks conducted by Arab terrorists who took advantage of their gainful employment to conduct attacks and murder Jews.

Knesset members from the political left and right alike have scoffed at calls not to employ Arabs out of fear that they might use their position to launch an attack, but former MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari called their bluff in November 2014, when he revealed the Knesset doesn’t hire any Arab workers for manual labor out of security concerns.
