A 35-year-old truck driver was trampled to death Monday night near Soreq Interchange southbound on Highway 6.
The driver exited his truck because of a flat tire and was subsequently hit by a passing vehicle. Magen David Adom paramedics arrived on the scene, but were forced to confirm his death after a short while.
Magen David Adom paramedics Roy Hazai and Sami Amar, who attended to the victim, later described the scene to the press.
“When we got there, we saw a truck parked on the side of the road. About 20 meters away, along the security rail, a man lay unconscious, not breathing, and without a pulse. He suffered from multi-system organ failure and was in critical condition. Soon we had to declare him dead,” the two paramedics relayed.
“Down the road was a car which showed signs of damage to its front end,” they added.
Earlier Monday, 5-year-old Benaya Shukrun was also trampled to death in a road accident in Beit El involving a Binyamin Regional Council shuttle bus. His funeral will be held at 10 p.m. Monday night.
According to the initial investigation, while Shukrun was riding on a scooter, he was caught between the wheels of a bus, without the driver noticing, and was subsequently run over and killed.
