The Chairman of the Religious Zionists of America (RZA), Martin Oliner, called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to ignore calls from the Israeli Left as well the Obama administration to give up his upcoming speech before the United States Congress.
Speaking to Arutz Sheva Sunday, Oliner declared: “I believe the Prime Minister is required to visit Washington and make his opinion heard on the current existential threat to Israel and the rest of the world.”
Oliner, an attorney by trade, serves as one of six members of the Executive Board of Touro College. He is also the founder of the San Francisco School of Osteopathic Medicine, has served as the director of the New York School of Podiatry, and is affiliated with a number of Jewish organizations working on behalf of Israel in the United States.
Continuing, Oliner noted that “President Obama’s attempt to insist on an agreement with Iran that would transform it into a nuclear power requires action from the side of global Jewish leaders and from the side of government leaders in both Israel and the United States.”
“Iran’s conduct – its involvement in terrorism and its repeated violations against nuclear buildup – require that a special session be held in Congress before it’s too late,” Oliner stressed.
RZA is the American branch of the Mizrahi-HaPoel HaMizrahi movement. Its goal is to instill a commitment to Religious Zionism and Israel in the American Jewish community.
