Rocket fired from Gaza hits Eshkol region
November 22, 2015A rocket fired by Arab terrorists in Gaza hit open ground in the Eshkol Regional Council area slightly before 7 a.m. on Monday morning.
No one was wounded in the attack and no damage was caused.
The “color red” rocket warning siren was not activated, apparently due to the fact that the system estimated the rocket would fall in open ground and did not pose a threat.
The latest rocket attack would appear to signify an uptick in the breaches of the ceasefire reached with the Hamas terrorist organization in August 2014 that ended Operation Protective Edge.
Just earlier this month another rocket hit open ground in the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council, and just several days before that another rocket hit the same region.
Hamas has been stepping up its domestic production of missiles largely due to the fact that an Egyptian buffer zone has kept arms from foreign backers like Iran and Qatar from reaching it through Sinai, and Israel has been implementing a naval blockade to blocked the route from the sea.
A Salafist group in Gaza that is tied to Islamic State (ISIS) has in the past taken credit for rocket attacks to try and create friction between Hamas and Israel and thereby harm the terrorist organization that rules Gaza, but Israel has made clear it holds Hamas responsible for attacks emanating from territory under its control.
