Robotics Conference Turns to Israel for Innovation

Fans gathered earlier this month at the Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv – not for basketball, but for the First Robotics Competition.

The regionals event, which hosted competitions both for teens and for adults passionate about robotics, drew hundreds of spectators and technology enthusiasts. Arutz Sheva interviewed the event’s organizers to see what the fuss was all about.

“They learn a lot about technology and teamwork,” Shirli Segal, FIRST Israel representative, noted. “They also do a lot of work for the community.”

Participants at the event showcased robots of all sizes – from tiny machines smaller than a cell phone to full-fledged robots several feet tall.

Fifty-three different teams competed in the different events, which drew corporate sponsors seeking the latest in technological innovation.
