Report: France Identifies Coulibaly’s Accomplice

French authorities have reportedly identified the accomplice of Amedy Coulibaly, who killed four people in a siege on a kosher supermarket in Paris last Friday, the Express reported Wednesday.

Forces are now looking for a man from a suburb of the French capital who they believe may have acted as Coulibaly’s driver, according to police sources.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said Monday that Coulibaly “undoubtedly” had an accomplice and vowed to continue the hunt.

Police originally believed that Coulibaly was aided by 26-year-old Hayat Boumeddiene, his “armed and dangerous” partner, but investigations revealed she likely slipped through Turkey into Syria earlier in the month. The search is still on for her.

Earlier on Wednesday, Belgian newspapers reported that Coulibaly bought most of the weapons used in last week’s attacks in Belgium.

The Kalashnikov rifle and rocket launchers used by brothers Said and Cherif Kouachi in the Charlie Hebdo magazine attack were bought by Coulibaly near the Gare du Midi railway station for less than 5,000 euros ($7,000), Flemish newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws reported.

The Scorpio assault rifle that Coulibaly used during a hostage-taking at a Jewish supermarket in Paris also came from Brussels, the newspaper said, quoting “very well placed sources.”

Separately, a known trafficker from Charleroi, south of Brussels, handed himself in to police on Tuesday saying he had been in contact with Coulibaly in recent months, the Belga news agency reported.
