Over the past several days, rabbis from Israel and around the world have sent condolence letters and messages to Rabbi Haim Korsia, Chief Rabbi of France, over the deaths of four Jews in the terror attack at a kosher grocery in Paris Friday. In a message to Rabbi Korsia, Jerusalem Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar wrote that “the Jewish people and the people of Jerusalem are with you. We feel your pain, and mourn the fire that G-d has brought into France.”
Four people, all of them Jews, were killed in the terrorist attack at the Hyper Cacher market in Paris on Friday. The CRIF umbrella group of French Jewish communities identified the victims of the attack Friday as Yoav Hattab, 20, Philippe Braham, 45, Yohan Cohen, 21, and Francois-Michel Saada, 64.
“Evil men with blood on their hands arose against us,” Rabbi Amar wrote in the letter. “They spilled innocent blood brutally and cruelly. They are evil people who have made it their goal to pursue the innocent, the child.
“If only we could awaken the hearts of leaders around the world to open their eyes, to put these terrorists where the belong, and that they should see this as not just a Jewish problem, but a problem for the whole world,” Rabbi Amar added.
