Qatar and Turkey to Accept Shalit Swap Terrorists
October 17, 2011Qatar and Turkey have agreed to accept the Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists to be deported under the prisoner swap deal to free IDF soldier Gilad Shalit. Moussa Abu Marzouk, deputy politburo chief of the Hamas terrorist organization that held Shalit hostage since June 2006, praised Egypt for its part in mediating the deal.
The Hamas official told the London-based Arabic-language daily Al-Hayat newspaper that several countries offered to facilitate the negotiations, but final mediators had to be agreed upon by both Israel and Hamas.
According to the report, Syria was another country that “might be willing to receive released detainees.” Many are multiple murderers who were serving life sentences, their hands stained with Jewish blood.
Marzouk apologized in the interview over a “misunderstanding” about the number of female prisoners being held by Israel; 27 females are to be released under the agreement, leaving nine still incarcerated.
Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal had released a statement saying that the terrorist group had managed to free every woman being held by Israel. Marzouk has confirmed that nine Palestinian Authority Arab women will remain in prison.
Mashaal meanwhile has allegedly traveled to Cairo to meet the released terrorists, according to the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency.
Ma’an also quoted Turkish media as saying that Ankara was willing to “accept all those exiled abroad.”
Hamas has beefed up the Gaza border, meanwhile, reportedly fearing a last-minute Israeli attack that would scotch the deal.
