The Lie That Wouldn’t Die: The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, written by Hadassa Ben-Itto, which seeks to expose the myths behind the infamous Protocols of the Elders of Zion, has been translated into Farsi.
The Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center posted a 400-page translation of the book, which includes a section, written by the author, that specifically addresses the Iranian audience.
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion were originally composed at the end of the 19th century by agents of the Russian secret police in an effort to cast the Jews as the cause of the revolutionary movement in Russia. The fabrications were also used as a weapon by the perpetrators of the pogroms against the Jewish population.
The Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center noted that, “by the end of the first world war, “millions of copies of the Protocols were circulated around the world in virtually every known language.”
“The Nazis used the book as a central factor in their propaganda to ‘prove’ the existence of a Jewish conspiracy to dominate the world…The Protocols contributed to the mass brainwashing which facilitated the systematic, industrialized annihilation of six million Jews during the Holocaust.”
Furthermore, the Protocols were then disseminated throughout the Arab world, as a means of proving that the “Jews control the world and are responsible for all its ills… The books became a bestseller and new editions were published in Iran, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and other Arab-Muslim countries.”
The significance of the book’s translation into Farsi could not be overstated. “For the first time since the Second World War, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion have been used as a strategic weapon in the hands of a state regime, in this case the Iranian regime as part of its deliberate plan to destroy the State of Israel. Moreover the existence of the ‘Jewish conspiracy’ to dominate the world as been made part of the Iranian perception to the point where is considered absolute, irrefutable truth,” the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center explained.
In her introduction the author says that the book describes how “The Protocols were faked, to what use they have been put and hoe the forgery was exposed and the truth revealed. It also shows how the lie survives, how the libel against the Jews continues to foster hatred and perpetrate the ideology that led to the annihilation of the Jews in the Holocaust, how today it is used as the foundation for the claims of those who deny the Holocaust and prepare terrorists for suicide bombing attacks…”
