One protester was killed on Friday after security forces shot at a march by supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi near Rabaa Al-Adawiya, reported Al-Ahram.

Rabaa Al-Adawiya is the site of one of two protest camps that were set up by Morsi supporters and were forcibly dispersed on August 14, leaving hundreds dead.

On Friday, pro-Morsi protesters took to the streets, marking 100 days since Morsi’s ouster, according to Al-Ahram.

Six protesters were arrested in Cairo on Friday, in addition to another nine others in Alexandria and Menoufia.

On Sunday, the 40th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War with Israel, known in Egypt as the October War, over 50 protesters were killed as clashes erupted between Morsi supporters and security forces.

The Obama administration announced this week it will cut hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to Egypt to register displeasure over the military’s pace of restoring democracy following Morsi’s ouster.

The U.S. provides $1.5 billion in annual aid to Egypt.

Israeli officials said Thursday they were concerned over the decision by the U.S. to cut military aid to Egypt, fearing that the cuts could jeopardize Egypt’s commitments to the Camp David Accords.

Egyptian government officials dismissed the American announcement, clarifying they will “not be pressured” by the United States into changing its policies on how to deal with Islamist radicals.
