Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu visited the construction site of Route 531, a suburban freeway in the southern Sharon region, Thursday.

At the site, he repeated warnings against the emerging nuclear agreement between Iran and Western powers. 

Iran is currently in negotiations with the P5+1 powers – Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States, plus Germany – aimed at a deal to resolve a long-running dispute over its nuclear program. 

After several postponements, a final date for an agreement has been slated for March 31. 

“Iran’s President, Hassan Rouhani, said that talks with the Western powers were advancing in the direction set by Iran, ” Netanyahu said.

“This direction leads Iran to being on the threshold of nuclear power, with both an international agreement, and the easing of economic sanctions.” 

“This means that Iran will be released from all pressure and will arrive at a point where it can arm itself with many nuclear weapons,” he continued. 

“This is very dangerous for Israel, dangerous for the region, and dangerous for world peace,” Netanyahu stressed. 

“As Prime Minister of Israel, it is my responsibility to warn the world about this danger and do everything I can to prevent its occurrence,” Netanyahu added, implicitly referring to an upcoming speech in the United States. 

Netanyahu will address, and is likely to criticize, the Iranian nuclear deal before a joint session of Congress on March 3.
