Pipe Bomb Terror Cell Exposed in Samaria’s Binyamin

April 27, 2015

General security services together with the IDF and Israeli Police uncovered a terror cell which conducted several attacks hurling pipe bombs and firebombs at the pre-military academy Elisha and the town Halamish in Samaria’s Binyamin region.

All of the members of the terror cell, which investigations show conducted five attacks between January and February, are residents of the Arab town Beit Rima.

They include: Mohammed Arahim Naif Stof (22), Basel Halad a-Rauf Rimawi (20), Sim Eilan Osama Halabi (19), Mahmoud Amil Rasam Rimawi (19), Mohammed Namar Mohammed Dar Stof (23) and Mohammed Fahar Nasat Dar Taeh (20).

The attacks were conducted by the terrorists while they were masked, and were carried out using Mohammed Arahim Naif Stof’s car.

Pipe bombs were thrown at Elisha on January 18 by the cell, and likewise the terrorists hurled Molotov cocktails at Halamish on January 20.

Elisha was hit with pipe bombs on several occasions between January 22-25, and firebombs were again thrown at Halamish on February 10. The cycle of pipe bombs on Elisha and firebombs on Halamish repeated on February 21.

The vehicle used by the terror cell was also seized by police in busting the cell.

The arrest of the terrorist cell follows on the heels of similar police arrests of other Arab terror cells conducting attacks in the Binyamin region in recent months.

In the coming days, the files of the six terrorists are to be brought to the military prosecutor to put them on trial and extend their detention until the end of legal proceedings.

Remarking on the arrests, the Israel Security Agency (ISA) said the actions of the cell “illustrate the great danger of the activities of local cells, and the high motivation existing among terror activists to carry out attacks.”
