PA Increases Salaries to Jailed Terrorists Who Killed Israelis

The Palestinian Authority has granted jailed terrorists hefty pay hikes for murdering Israelis, with salaries higher for those with Israeli citizenship. Israel’s Channel 2 television reported Monday evening.
The PA, which has been screaming for foreign funds to stay solvent, spends 6 percent of its annual budget to pay $4.5 million a month to jailed terrorists and another $6.5 million to their families.
All terrorists are awarded equally, regardless of whether they “worked” for Fatah, the party headed by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, or the rival Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations.
The hike in their ”wages” was authorized by PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, Channel 2 News said.
The new pay schedule allows anyone who has served more than 30 years in jail for murdering Israelis to receive NIS 12,000 ($3,000 a month), approximately the average monthly salary in the United States.
A Palestinian Authority law, authorized in 2003, grants monthly payments to all PA prisoners, regardless of their crimes, but more for those who serve long-term sentences for killing or planning to kill Israelis.
The new pay schedule leaves hard-core terrorists with the same amount of money, or more, than the average Palestinian Authority wage earner’s pay check of $500 a month (NIS 2,000).
Terrorists such as Hamas’ Abdallah Barghouti, who engineered the deaths of 67 Israelis, pocket $1,000 a month for the first 10 years in jail and an additional $500 a month from the 11th year in jail. The total sum of $1,500 per month is the same amount that is paid to the terrorists who planned the Park Hotel massacre in Netanya.
The Palestinian Authority’s payments for terror implicitly encourages Arabs with Israeli citizenship to carry out attacks against Jews. Jailed terrorists with citizenship are given an extra $125 a month.
Arabs in prison and who come from areas of Jerusalem claimed by the Palestinian Authority also are given an extra incentive – $65 a month for killing Israelis.
