Obama Assures France: We’re Not Spying on You Any More

US President Barack Obama spoke to French President Francois Hollande on Wednesday, assuring him the US was no longer spying on France after a Wikileaks cable revealed the National Security Agency (NSA) had been spying on three French presidents.

The White House stated after the phone call that “we are not targeting and will not target” Hollande, according to the BBC.

The cables revealed that the NSA had been spying on Hollande in the past, however, as well as former presidents Nicolas Sarkozy and Jacques Chirac.

French intelligence officials are due to fly to Washington to conduct talks on the revelation.

Among other explosive documents included in this Wikileak cable include proof Sarkozy was secretly planning to revive talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) behind Obama’s back.
