The Mashadi Synagogue in Great Neck, New York is holding this week, for the fifth year in a row, a special “shuk” (market), the profits from which are dedicated to the IDF, Magen David Adom and other Israeli organizations.

“This is the fifth year that we are running this shuk,” one of the organizers said, adding that the hope is that this year’s proceeds will be able to buy a new ambulance for Magen David Adom and build a new mikveh in Israel.
