Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington next month has raised speculation of a meeting with President Barack Obama over whether an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities is the best plan of action or whether a pre-emptive military strike would not have the desired results.

The Prime Minister’s schedule has not been detailed, but his office already has announced he will deliver a key address at the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference in early March.

A meeting with President Obama has not yet been finalized, while the Republican party is far from deciding who it will nominate to run against the president in November.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, a proponent of attacking Iran, said at the recent Herzliya Conference, “If sanctions don’t achieve the desired goal of stopping [Iran’s] military nuclear program, there will be a need to consider taking action.”

Iran recently affirmed that it wants to “wipe out Israel” in “less than nine minutes.” The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, proclaimed that the regime will “back and help any nation or group that wants to confront and fight against the Zionist regime” and called Israel a “cancerous tumor that should be cut and will be cut.”

Other Arab leaders constantly and unrelentingly call to completely obliterate the Jewish State, and an increasingly dire situation continues to spread throughout Syria, Egypt and the entire Middle East.

It is clear that Prime Minister Netanyahu may is visiting Washington for more reasons than one although the exact nature and purpose for the Prime Minister’s visit has yet to be determined.
