Netanyahu to Meet Foreign Ambassadors on Gaza
November 11, 2012
In what may be preparation for an Israeli attack in Gaza, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is set to meet on Monday with foreign ambassadors serving in Israel.
During the meeting Netanyahu will present to the ambassadors Israel’s position regarding Gaza, possibly setting the stage for such an attack which will likely lead to condemnation of Israel by world countries.
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported, Netanyahu met IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz and other top defense officials, in order to discuss the situation in both northern Israel as well as southern Israel. A source told Channel 10 News on Sunday night that Netanyahu was presented throughout the day with several options for Israeli military action in Gaza.
More than 100 rockets were fired at Israel by Gaza terrorists on Saturday and Sunday. A direct strike on a home in Sderot was reported after 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Thankfully, no one was physically injured despite the direct hit.
Many of the rockets fired Sunday were timed for the end of the school day, in order to try and kill or maim children.
Four civilians suffered shrapnel wounds Sunday morning during a rocket attack as they were rushing to work and school. All of the victims were evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva.
On Saturday, Gaza terrorists hit an IDF jeep with an anti-tank missile, wounding four soldiers.
One soldier was very seriously wounded and another soldier suffered moderate-to-serious wounds. Both were evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva.
Two other soldiers were in light to moderate condition, suffering from shrapnel wounds. They were evacuated to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.
The IDF responded with heavy tank fire at the eastern part of Gaza and at an area east of Khan Younis. There were also reports of artillery fire and fire from helicopters.
In the wake of the continued escalation in southern Israel, several MKs on Saturday night called on Netanyahu to take action in Gaza.
