Netanyahu: There is No Ceasefire

October 30, 2011

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Sunday that there is no ceasefire in the South and that the IDF is protecting Israel’s citizens and killing the terrorists who fire rockets.

Speaking at the weekly Cabinet meeting, which was held in Tzfat, Netanyahu added that the terrorists would pay “an even higher price than they did until now,” until the missile fire ceases.

He expressed appreciation for the endurance exhibited by the residents of the South in the face of the attacks.

The IDF, meanwhile, said it was “not waiting” for terrorists to decide whether they want a ceasefire or not.

At least 39 rockets and mortars were fired at southern Israel over the weekend, hitting Gan Yavneh, Ashdod and the communities of the Eshkol Regional Authority. One person was killed and about 20 were hurt.

The IAF fired at a terror squad that was about to fire a rocket from southern Gaza Sunday, killing two terrorists.
