Netanyahu: Terror on the decline

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu opened his weekly Cabinet meeting with a positive note Sunday, stating that terror attacks are on the decline after months of escalation.

“We will hear today an Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet – ed.) study which shows a significant drop in terror,” Netanyahu began. “I say this with great caution, since the situation can reverse itself at any moment – but we know we have achieved this as a result of aggressive, systematic, and responsible government leadership and policies.”

“I want to thank the IDF, the ISA, and the police for implementing these policies – for the alertness of our soldiers, policemen, and commanders, and the united mission to attack and protect which has made terrorists less successful,” he continued.

“The main factor leading to the spread of terrorism – here and elsewhere – is success [of other attacks – ed.]. If we reduce that success, we are reducing other successes – that is our line of action, and we are simultaneously taking very strong action against incitement from the Palestinian public.”
