Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovich estimated Sunday that there would be more Arab violence ahead of the visit by U.S. President Barack Obama later this month.
“The Palestinians have not said the final word yet,” he said, “and we expect that there will be attempts to take advantage of the upcoming events, like the visit by Barack Obama, in order to continue the violence.”
Aharonovich spoke at an annual conference summing up the activity of the Judea and Samaria Police District. For the first time ever, the conference was held in Hevron.
The minister also denounced recent reported violence by Jews against Arabs, and promised to continue dealing with these with “a strong arm.”
