Kouachi Bros. Sighted with Rocket Launcher Shortly After Attack

The terrorists behind the Charlie Hebdo attacks last week remained armed with a cache of weapons throughout their getaway from Paris, surveillance photos posted by French media outlet Mediaparte reveal Tuesday – and one traveled with a rocket apparently strapped to his back.

The stills, from a gas station the two robbed in the town of Carpi-en-Valois, northeast of Paris, were taken shortly after launching a rampage at the satirical magazine’s offices, killing twelve people.

Said and Cherif stocked up on supplies, according to CCTV footage, before fleeing from the scene. Cherif can clearly be seen with a rocket launcher on his back, casually slung over one shoulder.

The robbery eventually led to the terrorists, brothers and Al Qaeda terrorists Said and Cherif Kouachi, being chased by police and cornered at a printing shop at Dammartin-en-Goele, where they then held one worker hostage for hours before being killed by SWAT teams.

The gas station owner called police during the robbery and gave several pieces of identifying information to investigators on the terrorists, including which car they drove and in which direction they fled.

A massive manhunt of over 10,000 officers was launched after the sighting, but the pair managed to elude police officers until Friday. Investigators later found over a dozen Molotov cocktails and jihadist flags in one of their getaway cars, according to the Daily Mail
